What do you need to work on?
Anxiety, depression, anger, stress, self-awareness, self-acceptance, shame, guilt, relationship issues, communication issues, navigating life transitions, managing problems, and clarifying personal values are significant aspects of mental health.
Habits: The Old Guard
How you view any event or situation in your life is greatly influenced by your expectations, beliefs, and preconceived notions.
You might be reluctant to alter your personal standards, viewpoints, or ideas that shape your daily beliefs. Within each of us, an “old guard” clings to what is old and familiar. Complicating matters is that our perceptions tend to reinforce our initial framework.
Our Selective Perception is our tendency to notice and understand only what we expect to see. We often perceive only what falls within our frame of reference, disregarding or labeling anything outside of it as an anomaly. This can leave us stuck, making it difficult to enact positive changes. Particularly for those accustomed to seeing the glass as half empty, it can be initially challenging to view it as half full, especially if the old guard has remained unchallenged for years.
Listen to your Body
Our bodies constantly communicate how we feel in specific instances and continuously. We frequently miss these messages because we’re preoccupied with immediate reactions that create a flurry of thoughts and judgments. The real challenge lies in whether you can remain open to understanding and welcoming the sensations and emotions you’re experiencing, regardless of their nature, and accept them as part of your body’s present sensory landscape. Listening openly without becoming entangled in your emotions will uncover potent new methods to engage with life positively.
