Empowering

Hello, I’m Patricia Borgono, a retired psychotherapist and now a Balanced Woman Coach.

I am more than a coach – I’m a guide, a partner, and a firm believer in the power of transformation through balance and self-awareness, with over a decade of experience as a mental health specialist, motivational speaker, and professor, I’ve worked with women from all walks of life to help them reclaim their calm, rediscover their voice, and realign with their purpose,

I believe that every woman deserves to live in a space of mindful equanimity, where clarity and peace coexist. My coaching isn’t about quick fixes or empty motivation. It’s about slowing down, turning in, and creating sustainable inner change that radiates into every area of your life.

“Balance isn’t something you find. It’s something you create.” – Jana Kingsford.

My background in mental health and extended education in clinical psychology give me a deep understanding of the psychological and emotional challenges women face, especially those balancing careers, families, and personal dreams. I integrate therapeutic insight with practical coaching strategies that are empowering and uniquely tailored to you.

Let’s work together.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready to evolve, I’m here to support your journey. If you’re ready to step into your full potential as a balanced woman—grounded, resilient, and radiant—you’re in the right place.

My story of Resilience

Throughout my life, I’ve walked beside many who were grieving, both personally and as a counselor. I’ve held space for heartbreak, listened to stories of unimaginable loss, and offered support through the darkest of days. But nothing could have prepared me for the avalanche of sorrow that would come into my life.

In 2014, I experienced a heartbreak no grandparent should ever endure – I lost my precious grandson (age 18). Just eight months later, grief struck again, deeper and more unbearable, when I lost my beloved daughter. My world, once grounded in purpose and compassion, shattered in ways I never imagined.

As I was learning to live with these unimaginable losses, the world was brought to its knees by a pandemic. And then, amid global uncertainty, my husband suffered not one, but two heart attacks. During the second, his heart stopped. He flatlined. And yet = by some miracle, he came back.

I share these moments not to dwell in pain, but we do get to choose how we rise from them. We discover our greatest strength in how we navigate the unthinkable—with grace, grit, and sometimes trembling hands.

Learning to Heal

Grief, pain, and uncertainty offer deep insights into life. Cultivating equanimity fosters peace and appreciation for the present. The loss of my daughter and grandchild taught me that embracing impermanence doesn’t signify losing hope; instead, it encourages us to face reality while cultivating optimism and resilience.

Embracing impermanence deepens our appreciation for the preciousness of life. I have learned to cherish every interaction with my family and the beauty of fleeting moments. For instance, I focused on the years I shared with my grandchild and daughter instead of the loss. Life’s unfairness challenges us, but our ability to navigate each moment truly matters. Join me in reframing your perspective on life.

My Approach to Coaching

A pivotal moment in my professional journey came when I realized that retiring as a therapist didn’t mean stepping away from the work I love—it simply meant evolving it. The heart of my passion has always been supporting growth, healing, and transformation. Coaching became the natural continuation of the calling—a space where I could still serve, guide, and empower women in meaningful and deeply personal ways.

Just as in therapy, my coaching practice is not about me—it’s about the client. The foundation of my work is rooted in the belief that transformation happens through authentic, human connection. I don’t offer pre-packaged programs or one-size-fits-all advice. Instead, I build a relationship—a partnership—grounded in mutual respect, trust, and a shared commitment to your growth.

Research shows that effective coaching is not transactional; it’s relational. It thrives in a one-on-one connection where the coach truly sees, hears, and understands the client. That’s why my coaching style is eclectic—I thoughtfully integrate a variety of psychological theories, wellness frameworks, and coaching methodologies to tailor each session to the individual woman in front of me.

No two clients are the same, so no two sessions should be either. Your experiences, values, and challenges are unique; you deserve a coaching journey that reflects that. My eclectic approach ensures that what we do together is not only effective – it’s deeply personal and powerfully aligned with who you are and who you’re becoming.

How I Apply This in Session

In one session, a client may be navigating burnout from balancing career and caregiving responsibilities. I might draw from mindfulness-based stress reduction to help her reconnect with her breath and create space for inner stillness, while using cognitive reframing techniques to shift the narratives that are fueling her overwhelm.

In another session, a woman may be at a crossroads in her identity, struggling with self-worth after a major life transition like divorce or an empty nest. I often integrate values clarification exercises, inner child work, and solution-focused coaching to help her rediscover her voice and move forward with renewed confidence.

Sometimes, a client needs a safe place to be heard, without judgment or pressure. In those moments, I lean on my background in trauma-informed care and use deep listening, empathy, and somatic awareness to honor her emotional truth while gently guiding her toward healing and clarity.

Whether we’re exploring belief systems, uncovering blocks, or designing a vision for your future, the process is always intentional, collaborative, and led by you. I walk beside you with the tools, insight, and compassion to help illuminate the path.

The Dragonfly Logo

My logo, featuring a dragonfly, symbolizes transformation, hope, change, and self-realization, representing our ability to overcome difficult times. It embodies creative insight and clarity of vision. The dragonfly’s ability to achieve goals effectively mirrors the journey of self-discovery, while its iridescence represents the uncovering of essential skills and liberation from self-doubt.
