Patricia-Focused on A Balanced Life

Psychotherapist & Educator

Focus Life On You

I offer transformational coaching to women, focusing on behaviors and habits that might be holding them back. By exploring the holding habits, the coachee can explore their values, beliefs, and emotions and clearly see where change is needed to achieve new desired results no matter how difficult the struggles seem at the present moment. Clients trust my ability to help them balance their personal and professional lives because they see that I am invested in helping them find solutions to their problems.

Why is my practice called “Mindful Equanimity the Balanced Woman”? Mindful emphasizes the ability to remain consciously aware of what is happening around you. Equanimity is an experience of grounded presence in the midst of chaos, suffering, and pain. It is a state of psychological balance and stability. It allows us to navigate the many curveballs that life throws at us with grace and serenity.

Why the Dragonfly Logo? The Dragonfly logo symbolizes transformation and self-realization. The Dragonfly represents creative insight and a clear vision. The inspiring aspect of the dragonfly is how it accomplishes its objective accomplishment with utmost simplicity and effectiveness. Its iridescence is associated with the discovery of one’s abilities by unmasking the real self and removing the doubts one casts on oneself. This indirectly signifies self-discovery and the removal of restraints.

My Background

My name is Patricia Borgono, and I am the founder of Mindful Equanimity, The Balanced Woman. I earned a degree in Clinical Psychology and Education. I worked in the Public school system for 18 years as a High school teacher and raised four children while attending graduate school to earn my doctorate in clinical psychology before opening my own successful Mental health practice. Today, I work with women as a transformational coach, getting to the root of my client’s problems. Rather than just setting goals, my clients uncover the WHY and find their life’s purpose by becoming open to deep self-exploration. I want clients to learn from their experiences and become their own coaches.

Clients often tell me they like my coaching style and have made positive changes they didn’t think possible. Transformational change is possible, no matter what the issue might be, as long as the client is serious about wanting to change. Are you ready?

Tragedy and Life

Life took a tragic turn in 2014 and 2015, with the loss of my grandson in 2014 and eight months later, with the loss of my beautiful daughter in 2015. I lost my faith in God for a while and then found it again. In spirituality, equanimity is considered the divine abode of the mind. It is my faith that held me up then and now.

During COVID, my husband suffered two heart attacks; the first one he didn’t realize he had had a heart attack. Afraid to go to the hospital, fearing he would get Covid, he didn’t get checked out. A month later, he was still struggling and went to urgent care; he was rushed to the Hospital, where he flatlined and is alive today. His heart functions at 48% due to muscle loss, but he is alive and doing well. We have been blessed with the purchase of a second home in the mountains of North Carolina, where we go to enjoy life, family, and each other. We live every day with love, acceptance, and compassion for each other and others. No more worrying about things we can not change. “Living each day as if it was our last day.” I try to live the life I seek for my clients.

Coaching Style

The style of coaching I offer is more directive and proactive ( depending on my client’s needs). I try to make sure my clients get the most out of my sessions. I work with my clients, make observations, ask questions, and listen intently, all designed to help my clients succeed.

Who Do I Work With?

So, after years of a successful mental health practice, I closed my practice and started “The Balanced WomaI, where I coach women on the art of finding happiness by changing their psychology on how they view themselves, others, and the world around them.

Teaching

Teach monthly readers the art of positive psychology, behavior, spirituality, and maintaining a healthy mind and body. I teach women how to balance their lives and find fulfillment in being beautiful women, mothers, professionals, all-around activity planners, and participants in life.

The Focus Is on Strengths.

Focused topics include positive psychology, mental wellness, and mental and physical well-being. Seeing yourself differently and thinking positively about yourself through psychology is the focus,

Remember your STRENTHS. You are stronger than you can ever imagine. Embark on the positive.

Morning Mantra

“I will never forget how far I’ve come, everything I’ve gone through. All the times, I’ve pushed on even when I felt I couldn’t. All the mornings, I’ve gotten out of bed, no matter how hard it was. All the times, I wanted to give up, but I got through another day. I must NEVER FORGET THE STRENGTH I’VE DEVELOPED ALONG THE WAY.” Author: Unknown

Forgive, Acceptance, and Compassion for Yourself and Others.

Personally, I know how hard life can be. But no matter how dark, life can darken your lens. You can change the darkness into brightness. Changing the colors to hope, gratitude, acceptance, commitment, and compassion without judging yourself and others is essential. Stop choosing to be angry and frustrated. Stop filling your life with disappointment, anger, and frustration. Live with a greater sense of faith and a strong belief that your life’s pain, worries, uncertainties, and dissatisfaction will subside. Pain and uncertainty are out of our control.

“Forces beyond our control can take away everything we possess except one thing: our freedom to choose how we will respond to a situation.” Viktor Frankl

Is personal strength important?

Life is filled with challenges that can lead to negative thoughts, unwanted emotions, and harmful behaviors. As Victor Frankel stated, “You are free to choose how you respond to every situation.

Personal Strength

So, live it fully with gratitude, love, acceptance, and compassion for yourself and others. Live on the path of harmony and a balanced life.
